I spent nearly a decade working at Bank of America, from 2006 to 2015. Joining the User Centered Design & Research group was a fantastic learning experience.  Not only did the bank base its decisions on site analytics and usability research, they had in-house development teams and a wide product offering.

 

I worked with teams across the country, on projects ranging from a credit card activation flow to a home equity refinance calculator, from implementing a site-wide design system to working with a small Agile team tasked with standardizing the new account experience across the lines of business.

Much of what I learned involved working within a huge corporation, with multiple business partners, very large teams, long project timelines and many layers of approvals before a project saw the light of day.
